Staring over at my mesh of knitting needles, cable needles, DPNs etc. I wanted to come up with a design which would allow me to store all my craft accessories/tools in one place, whilst also looking pretty of course! So I came up with this design.

The inspiration for the design came from an old shoe holder which had different compartments for shoes. I also wanted to have a knitted element for it so I decided to use these gorgeous mixture of blues, greens and hints of purple.

Ok, so this is the pattern. It's very straight forward and a definite easy project for beginners.

What you will need:

One pair of straight needles size 3mm
Yarn in three different colours.
Sewing needle
Large piece of fabrics - I used an old pillow case.

Begin by casting on 100 stitches.
NB:The pattern is worked in garter stitch throughout.

Cast off all stitches.

Sew in loose strands underneath the fabric.
Line the knitted piece with your selected fabric. The layered look is pretty straight forward, just line up the fabric to the desired length you would like and sew.

This item is all handstitched as my sewing machine was playing up! However feel free to use a machine, makes life a lot easier!

Hope you have enjoyed my pattern.

Time to get to work on the next!

Happy knitting!
