There aren't many of us who can say our lives have not been affected by cancer in some way or another. We all have a story, whether it be a friend, family member, neighbour... it's an illness that affects so many lives.

Ascot Relay for life wants to turn Ascot racecourse in the UK Purple on the 18th July, by knitting or crocheting 1200 scarves.

When the event is finished, these scarves will be sold to raise funds for Cancer research UK.

So why not dig into your wool stash, find some leftover purple wool and get knitting or crocheting. All details of measurements and where to send them can be found on The UK Hand Knitting Website.
